Meridian Valley Country Club Women’s Division
Promoting the game of golf, sportsmanship, friendship and community service among our members

All women members at Meridian Valley Country Club with golfing privileges are encouraged to join the Women’s Division and to enjoy the opportunity to play golf and compete in a social and friendly environment for all handicap levels.

In addition to golf, our organization provides support to the community and charities through organized fundraising events, which have raised over $70,000 in support of Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, Childhaven, Kent Hope, and other local charities.  The 2022 Charity Auction will support Vine Maple Place. Friendship and community compassion are encouraged through social gatherings and special events.

Tuesday Golf Competitions
Daytime: 18-hole players compete on Tuesday mornings from March through the beginning of November. The weekly competition details and winners are emailed each week as well as posted in the ladies locker room. Members who participate must turn in their scorecards and post their score after the round; they are then divided into divisions based on current individual handicaps. This allows for a fair competition between all levels of golfers from beginning to skilled. Payouts are given in the form of Golf Shop credit to the top golfers in each division each week. If you decide not to participate in the competition we hope you’ll still join us – just don’t bother turning in your scorecard.

Twilight
The Tuesday 9 hole twilight season runs May through August. Twilight offers a low-key relaxed option for working women, moms of young children and golfers of all levels. Our twilight chairs have a knack for putting together competitions that any level golfer can enjoy. Becoming a Women’s Division member will allow you to participate in twilight activities with phenomenal savings as well.

Your $85 Women’s Division yearly dues provide discounts/entry into our Tuesday daytime and Twilight competitions.

Opportunities to play at other clubs
The Seattle Women’s Golf Association (SWGA) is an organization of 14 private clubs in King County including MVCC. SWGA began in 1929 with a vision to promote the interests of golf among women, increase knowledge and appreciation for the rules of golf, be good sports, and engage in friendly competition. The organization is dedicated to reciprocity, which means the clubs take turns hosting tournaments allowing other members to play at their course on a rotating schedule each season. Each year there are four “SWEEPS” tournaments and the annual City Championship. Any member of the Women’s Division with a handicap of 40.0 or lower can participate in the SWGA tournaments. This is an excellent way to hone your skills, play at the other beautiful private clubs in our area and meet other golfers through competition. Annual dues for SWGA are $20.

Competition with other clubs
As members of SWGA, the MVCC Women’s Division sponsors a golf team consisting of the 20 lowest handicap golfers from our course. The golf team competes each season with the other SWGA teams in King County.
