Greg Manley

Greg was born and raised in Puyallup, WA. He played junior golf at Fircrest Golf Club in Tacoma and college golf at Green River College in Auburn. After several years playing mini tours in Southern California and Canada, he joined the McCormick Woods Golf Course professional staff. Greg came to Meridian Valley in the Spring of 1994 becoming the Club’s fifth Head Professional in 1997.


Carissa Simmons

Carissa was raised in Boise, Idaho and played college golf at the University of Montana. Carissa is a PGA Apprentice and is working toward completion of the program. She spent two years as an assistant golf professional at Crane Creek Country Club (Boise, ID) and came to MVCC from Seattle Golf Club in April 2015. Carissa began playing the game at just 5 years of age. Her career goal is to introduce and attract as many people to the game as possible. She hopes to help them find the love and passion in a game they can play for a lifetime, socially or competitively.

Tyler Clavin

Position: Director of Golf Operations

Tyler grew up in Kent and was captain of the Kentwood Golf team where he fell in love with Meridian Valley. He then attended the University of Idaho; majoring in marketing and attaining his PGA Class-A. For the PGA Golf Management program he earned Student of the Year and Player of the Year honors. After graduation he became TPI Level-1 certified while working for the Pebble Beach Company. Returning to the Northwest he spent two seasons as a PGA Assistant Golf Professional at Columbia Edgewater Country Club in Portland, OR. Tyler enjoys forming strong relationships through the game of golf and assisting all to achieve their personal golfing goals.


Brian Johnson

Brian was born and raised in Southern California and played baseball most of his young life before switching to golf at the age of 15. He moved to Washington and quickly fell in love with the game. He has worked at numerous golf facilities including Suncadia’s Prospector and Rope Rider courses while in college. Brian played on the Central Washington University club team after completing a great run at Tahoma High School. Before joining Meridian Valley in 2016, Brian previously worked for TaylorMade Golf as a custom club fitter. His career goals are to strengthen the game of golf and enhance members’ experiences.


Brian Thornton

Position: PGA Teaching Professional

Brian grew up in Oroville, WA and played WJGA in Eastern Washington. Brian attended Eastern Washington University and played on the golf team. He was selected to the All Big Sky Golf Team as a Senior. He has won the Washington State Assistants Championship, the Pacific Northwest Assistants Championship twice, the Washington State Open in 2009 and the Oregon Open Invitational in 2012.

Brian loves to teach and is excited to be at Meridian Valley, making an impact on members’ games!
