MONTHLY BOARD MEETING MINUTES

September 8, 2010

 

CALLED TO ORDER BY PRESIDENT ED BANGSUND at 7:05 p.m.

 

ATTENDANCE:Ed Bangsund, Dale Mjelde, Jim Schack, Frank Wisdom, and Cheryl Havener

Absent: Bill McLaughlin, Jan Lewis, Bob Steiner, and Ryan Thrower

 

PREVIOUS MEETING MINUTES:Approved as written

 

TREASURERíS REPORT:Jim Schack

  • Current Profit and Loss Budget vs. Actual through August 2010 report, Balance sheet, and A/R Aging Summary were distributed for review. Discussion was held, copy attached in file.
  • Continue to work with Shannon and Associates concerning the IRS findings.They have asked for more information, copy of requested information in file.This will be forwarded to them tomorrow to help them establish our case or determine if we should accept the IRS audit findings.

 

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

COMMON GROUNDS:Ed Bangsund

  • The front entrance planter shrubs have been replaced.
  • The north gate planter needs weeding and pruning.
  • A shrub still needs to be planted across from Lot 1018.
  • The Temple property owners are to trim back the blackberry bushes that have grown over the fence.
  • A landscape bid package will be sent to six contractors for the 2011 contract.The package to be sent by November 1, 2010, bid to be returned by December 1, 21010, and the bid awarded by January 1, 2011.M/S/P for a committee of Bill McLaughlin, Jan Lewis, Ryan Thrower, and Jack Ottini to review the returned bids and submit their recommendation to the Board.

 

SECURITY:Dale Mjelde

  • Only minor issues this month.A truck window was broken, nothing stolen.It appeared that a rock hit the window.

 

FACILITIES:Bill McLaughlin Ė abs. written report read

  • Broken Fence on 144th Ave SE near Blue Tee Box on Hole #5.I was contacted by Kim at 7:56 on the morning of 8-24-10 that a landscaping truck had crashed into the fence and the driver had run away from accident.911 was called, fire truck & police responded.A small amount of gas leaked from gas container in the back of the truck onto the road, fire department spread dirt to contain spill. Kent police asked for and received driverís license and registration for truck, both checked out ok. He did not issue any citation.The driver of the truck had run off because the owner of the company was close by and he went to get help.The owner of the landscape company said he would pay to repair the fence and would replace the landscaping as soon as the fence was repaired.I have contacted Lee Mudd at Quality Fence Co. and he will repair fence as soon as possible.
  • Lot #34 reported street light was not working.I called PSE and they will repair within the next week. (Pole #314289-167079)

 

ARCHITECTURAL:Frank Wisdom/Jan Lewis

  • Sixteen approval/rejections and five yard/dog letters were sent in August.
  • Ten to twelve approval letters will be sent this month along with some yard maintenance and dog issue letters.
  • A letter concerning the condition of the home on Lot 298 will be sent.

PRESIDENTíS REPORT: Ed Bangsund

  • The Nominating Committee is still working on candidates for next yearís Board.
  • The back pressure testing seems to be completed.
  • The front gate bolt was sheered off again.It is believed the sleeve needs major work.When Bill McLaughlin returns, he will evaluate the problem.
  • The Hole #12 creek project is on hold, due to the re-design being done.Jack Ottini and I will continue to work on this project.
  • Discussion was held concerning the property fence line.Mr. Garner is in the hospital, we are waiting a response back from Mr. Wilson.Jim Schack will send a letter to Mr. Cole rescinding the previous letter concerning the easement, since the platt is gone.
  • The Sikh Temple has now provided all the documentation requested.M/S/P to sign-off on the contract.The check for $3,000 will now be deposited and a copy of the signed contract will be mailed to the Temple.
