MONTHLY BOARD MEETING MINUTES

NOVEMBER 11, 2009

 

CALLED TO ORDER BY PRESIDENT JACK OTTINI at 7:14 p.m.

 

ATTENDANCE:  Jack Ottini Terry Lavery, Ed Bangsund, Jim Schack, Frank Wisdom, Bob Steiner, and Cheryl Havener

Absent:  Bill McLaughlin and Ryan Thrower

 

PREVIOUS MEETING MINUTES:  Approved as written

 

TREASURER’S REPORT:  Jim Schack

  • Current Profit and Loss Budget vs. Actual statement through October 2009, and the Edward Jones savings and checking statements were distributed for review.  Discussion was held, copy attached in file.
  • The proposed budget for 2010 was distributed for discussion.  M/S/P for the approval of the budget to be presented at the General Membership meeting.  It will be sent with the ballots for membership review.

 

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

COMMON GROUNDS:  Ed Bangsund

  • Very quiet Month, largest effort is on raking leaves and clearing drains.  Currently cleaning up planting islands at all gates.
  • Arborvitae will be planted this month.
  • Mowed and developed plans for maintaining Lot 122.

 

SECURITY:  Terry Lavery / Ed Bangsund

  • Oct. 11th – MVCC men’s and Women’s locker room exterior doors were unlocked.  Security checked on the doors on each patrol.
  • Oct. 13th – lost power in south section of MVCC – the south gate was posted open.  Same day, police called to Lot 62.
  • Oct. 15thLot 212 called to complain about someone tampering with vehicles in their driveway.
  • The dog at Lot 255 continues to be a problem along with yard maintenance issues.  Jack Ottini will write a letter.

 

WEBSITE:  Robert Steiner

  • MVMA Board of Trustee candidate statements will be posted on the web when that information is mailed to residents.
  • The MVMA 2010 proposed budget will be posted on the website when it is mailed to residents.
  • An e-mail will be sent to residents on the e-mail distribution lists announcing the MVMA Annual Meeting in December.  Residents will also be reminded that the 2009 Annual Meeting minutes are available on the website as in the MVMA 2010 proposed budget.

FACILITIES:  Bill McLaughlin/Jack Ottini

  • New tires were installed on the security pickup.
  • The stop sign post that was broken at SE 241st and 137th Avenue SE was repaired.
  • No problems were reported on Halloween.
  • A second letter was received from Lot 158 concerning the speed bump near their home.  Bill will handle.
  • The fence realignment work has stopped until Mr. Garner verifies the survey stakes along his property.  He is to finish before Thanksgiving.
  • Western States Services will sweep our road system the last week of November.

 

ARCHITECTURAL:  Frank Wisdom

  • Nine letters were sent in October. 
  • Six letters in November, more will probably be sent before the end of the month.

 

PRESIDENT’S REPORT:  Jack Ottini

  • Three candidates are running for election. They are Janet Lewis, Dale Mjelde, and Richard Snyder.  Ballots and annual meeting information will be mailed Monday, November 16th.  We will need four people to count ballots on December 7th at 1:00 pm.
  • A hazardous tree problem on the Lot 73 was taken care of.
  • The December Board meeting is being changed from the 9th to the 2nd.  This is being done so we can meet before the Annual Meeting.  The Architectural Committee meeting will be on the same day at 6:00 pm.
  • The end of the year Board diner will be held the end of January.
