MONTHLY BOARD MEETING MINUTES

December 2, 2009

 

CALLED TO ORDER BY PRESIDENT JACK OTTINI at 7:00 p.m.

 

ATTENDANCE:Jack Ottini Terry Lavery, Ed Bangsund, Jim Schack, Frank Wisdom, Bill McLaughlin, Bob Steiner, and Cheryl Havener

Absent: Ryan Thrower

 

PREVIOUS MEETING MINUTES:Approved as written

 

TREASURERíS REPORT:Jim Schack

  • Current Profit and Loss Budget vs. Actual through November 2009 and Balance sheet as of December 2nd were distributed for review.Discussion was held, copy attached in file.
  • A copy of the budget for 2010 was distributed for final review, copy attached in file.A few changes will be made next week, making the 2009 numbers as accurate as possible.
  • There was a good return on our Mutual Funds. The checking account with Edwards Jones, will be closed by the end of the year.

 

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

COMMON GROUNDS:Ed Bangsund

  • Weeding and pruning is completed on all gate planters.Blowing and gathering of leaves continue.
  • The planting area for new shrubs is now prepared.

 

SECURITY:Terry Lavery / Ed Bangsund

  • A complaint was received concerning late night work on Lot 148.
  • The guardhouse monitor was broken and sent in for repair.
  • Since June 2009, the guardhouse computer was not backing up data properly.It is now fixed.
  • Lot 349 had their mailbox run over by a vehicle.
  • The north gate entrance was stuck open Ė was re-set and now works fine.

  • Message was sent to MVMA residents on the e-mail distribution list, reminding them of the upcoming MVMA Annual Meeting.Residents were also informed that the 2010 proposed budget is posted on the MVMA website as well as the minutes from the 2008 MVMA General Meeting.Residents were also reminded that there are still some leaves on trees and they should make sure that the storm drain grates do not get covered with leaves when it rains.
  • Another e-mail will be sent to the residents after Christmas reminding them of the Boy Scout collection and recycling of Christmas trees on January 2nd.

 

FACILITIES:Bill McLaughlin

  • Mr. Gardner still has the fence project on hold.Hope to have issues resolved by this weekend.
  • A few large maps of MVCC were made.I will plot the locations and numbers of the street lights, this will make calling in repairs to PSE much easier.
  • The street sweeping of the leaves and sand was completed before Thanksgiving.
  • Comcast replaced a damaged cable box at SE 251st and 251st Avenue SE.
  • The stop sign post that was broken has been replaced.

 

ARCHITECTURAL:Frank Wisdom

  • Five letters were sent in November.
  • So far three letters this month.

 

PRESIDENTíS REPORT: Jack Ottini

  • Four ballot counters are needed to review the election ballots.We will meet Monday, December 7th at 1:00 in the Menís Card Room.
  • Discussion was held concerning a thank you gift for the Security Guards and Office Manager.M/S/P giving a monetary gift to the guards and manager.
  • Discussion was held, the MVMA will keep the same policy as the City of Kent concerning Fireworks.
  • A review of the snow, ice, and gate operation procedures.†† Western States, our street sweeper, will have a truck with a snow removal blade available for our use.
